WHAT DO THEY EXPECT FROM YOU WHEN THEY GIVE YOU TO TRY THE WINE IN A RESTAURANT?

It is a moment that many people have fear of and no one ever knows very well what to do or tell... whether to act or to pass the ball to someone else. The waiter - or, better yet, the sommelier - serves the wine for you to taste and waits for your opinion. How should you behave? If you're not a connoisseur, what's the best way to get out? We tell you about it in today's post!

At this somewhat uncomfortable moment, what people normally think is that what you should do is a detailed wine tasting, talking about its aromatic notes and its perceptions in the mouth and ultimately saying whether you liked it or not.

What many people do not know is that it is not really necessary to be an expert in wine to be able to enjoy a wine and get out of a situation like this.

Actually, what is expected of this situation is only for the diner to check that they have brought the wine you have ordered and that it is the correct vintage.

So when you order a wine and the waiter brings it to you, you just have to taste it and check that it is not too cold or hot or that it does not have strange flavors.

If it's too hot, ask for an ice bucket and that's it! But obviously, the ice is to put the wine in the ice bucket, not for the glass!

You know how we have told you in previous posts, that we should not put ice in the glass since that way the wine loses its aromas and flavors. You can still buy "no ice" cubes to prevent that from happening. They are a good alternative to have at home and can always get us out of any trouble.

Cheers!
