The Manto Negro is a native Mallorcan grape, without much expressiveness but with a high alcohol content. The variety is suitable for the production of easy-drinking reds, but without the nobility required for aging, due to its unfortunate tendency to oxidize prematurely.For this reason, it perfectly complements the native Callet.

Complemented with other varieties, it produces warm and velvety wines, giving good results after a brief aging in wood. Upright strain, medium production. Medium sprouting and long ripening cycle. Sensitive to mildew. Medium leaf, and cluster of medium size and slightly compact. High graduation, low coloration and peculiar aroma. Fruit Rich in sugars and aromas, it generates wines of excellent qualities and with a lot of character, with a medium-high layer. On the palate they are warm and velvety, with a good and very pleasant finish. Its alcohol content is medium-high.
