5 TIPS TO IDENTIFY A GOOD WINE

We have prepared 5 basic tips to identify a good wine:

1. GENERAL ASSESSMENT.

To begin with, we will generally inspect the wine bottle, that is, there must be a balance in its different characteristics. If the wine maintains a basic balance between aroma, flavor and color, we will be dealing with a good wine. From this balance each of these three values can be emphasized more than the others.

2. THE COLOR.

We must examine the color with special attention, because it is a balancing factor when choosing a good wine. The color must be carefully examined, as it must be crystalline. If the wine we examine is cloudy, it will not be in good condition. In turn, if the wine is white, it will darken a bit over time and the red ones will be lighter.

3. THE SMELL.

It has to transmit a fruity smell to us at its optimum point of ripeness. This will be the indication of good condition and quality of the wine.

4. THE FLAVOR.

Wine is a natural drink of fermentative origin, which is why it consists of multiple compounds and as such has different flavors. Seen from a chemical point of view, wine has more than 800 different compounds, most of which are volatile. Now, let's move on to practice. No huge drinks, a small sip will be enough to recognize the taste of the wine. Let the wine rest on your palate, examine the sweetness, the unique and fruity flavors. If the flavor is grape, it is a good wine.

5. THE BODY.

The body of the wine is one of the parameters that is taken into account when scoring a wine and this is valued in wine tastings. A very important factor when evaluating the body of a wine is the tannins, these are elements of texture that make the taste of the wine harsh. Tannin provides a dry, rough, rough, astringent flavor and can be seen especially in the middle of the tongue and the front of the mouth. As a final point, a good wine must last both in our nose and in our mouth.

We hope that these 5 tips have served as a guide for choosing a good wine next time!
